Press Release: Adecco’s new weapon in the fight against Youth Unemployment
‘Game your way to work.” That could be the new weapon for the Adecco Group Netherlands commitment to its Way to Work campaign with a particular focus on young job-seekers. The new weapon is a Serious Game, developed by IamProgrez. Anyone can play the game online via www.adecco.nl/waytowork or via the special Facebook page Way to Work Netherlands.
Way to Work, started in 2013, is an international campaign that CSR Adecco deploys worldwide in the fight against high youth unemployment. Employees of the HR service provide free career advice in order to better equip young job-seekers for their first steps in the labour market. The game is in the Netherlands, an integral part of the Way to Work campaign (consisting of Adecco Streetday, the CEO for One Month project and the Adecco Experience program) through which we offer young people the opportunity to gain relevant work experience within their chosen fields.
‘Game your way to better CVs
The Adecco Experience Workshops this year debut for the very first time the important game, “Game2Work -Custom built and designed for Adecco Group Netherlands by IamProgrez in The Hague. IamProgrez specialize in the design and implementation of serious games and gamified skill assessment in the Employment Sector. Game2Work focuses on the so-called “21st century skills”: skills that are increasingly affect the employability of young people. Four main categories – analysis, creativity, organizational skills and communication – are the core competencies employers and recruiters currently critically examine when evaluating CVs. Game2Work gives young people a fun but deep understanding of these employability skills so they can immediately optimize their resumes. ‘Game your way to a better resume, “is the objective of Game2Work.
Mini assessment in an online game
Adecco is delighted with gamified ‘assessment’ in Game2Work as it dovetails perfectly with the experience of many young people for whom gaming is part of the daily routines. The fun factor definitely helps to keep young job seekers motivated in the challenging search for a suitable job. Adecco calls on all young people looking for work to engage and play with our interactive ‘resume game’.
IamProgrez is proud of the collaboration with Adecco in the Way to Work initiative. This year’s Way to Work in the Netherlands was supported by the IamProgrez game platform. In particular the Way to Work game for young job-seekers is a fun, fast and attractive experience which better prepares them for the job market. The IamProgrez platform offers them Gamified Skill Assessment in which players can get instant and usable feedback based on their play style and behavior to increase their employment opportunities. Cooperation in this initiative(as well as all our previous initiatives) fundamentally aligns with our ambition to reduce unemployment amongst youngsters.
